California Hydrogen Business Council Logo Redesign

As a visual designer for the California Hydrogen Business Council, I spearheaded a comprehensive brand refresh that positioned the organization at the forefront of California's clean energy future.

The Challenge: Create a modern, distinctive mark that could communicate both the scientific precision of hydrogen technology and the forward-thinking mission of CHBC, while ensuring versatility across digital platforms, print materials, and stakeholder communications. The identity needed to resonate with diverse audiences—from policymakers and energy industry leaders to environmental advocates and the general public.

My Process: I developed a logo system centered on a clever visual metaphor: an H₂ molecule integrated within the letter "C" for California. The stylized molecular structure uses organic, connected forms that suggest both scientific accuracy and dynamic energy flow. The purple and teal color palette distinguishes CHBC within the clean energy sector while projecting innovation and environmental responsibility. I designed both vertical and horizontal lockups to ensure maximum flexibility across applications, from conference signage to social media avatars.

The Result: A distinctive brand identity that elevates CHBC's visibility in California's hydrogen economy while maintaining professional credibility across business, government, and advocacy contexts. The modular logo system supports consistent brand expression across all stakeholder touchpoints.
